Happy Valentines Day! Is it just me or does this year already seem to be flying by! There’s lots of valentines day crafts and ideas floating around the web, however I’ve found 3 fun, easy and little mess crafts to do with kids for valentines day.
The first one is this cute heart wreath.
All you need is some card stock, staples, scissors and ribbon if you wish to hang the wreath. To make this, cut some card stock into long strips about 2 inc wide. Fold in half and curl the ends over. Staple and your done! Loki helped with cutting the paper and was really happy to help. Staple the ends together then arrange in a circle. I used 11 hearts in total.
Staples work better then glue, however you could use sticky tape as well if you didn’t have a stapler.
Second craft is “I love you to pieces” heart art. Lilly and I did this the other night after dinner and we really enjoyed just doing craft the 2 of us. For this craft you need card stock, glue and glitter if you wish. Just free draw or print out a heart on some card stock. Grab some cut up card stock (any color works great) and then stick the cut up card into the heart. Also helps kids to stay in the lines.
Add glitter at the end if you wish and then hang to dry. Great for a gift or some art to hang on the wall. Lilly loved how she could do this craft on her own, she didn’t need me to help her but I did any way lol.
The third craft is a fun one I came across from Art Bar Blog. It’s called puffy hearts and the kids paint hearts and then fill them with tissue paper, newspaper or even bubble wrap. They look super cute. The only requirement – fill the heart 🙂 we made little hearts and filled them with left over paper from Easter.
I helped color in the hearts lol. It was a good quite time activity and there was little paint clean up like normal.
Last but not least, is a cute idea of putting hearts on the kids doors telling them why we love them. I did a heart for the first 14 days of February. It’s just a little keepsake, but I can always put them away and reuse them next year. I’m hoping that next year I can get the kids to write a few to mum and dad lol. I just used a heart template and cut out 28 hearts from card stock. Pinks and whites were used, however you can use any color that you like, maybe you have a theme you go with each year. Change the heart color so each year is something fun. I will admit it took Lilly about 3 days before she noticed that hearts where on her door lol. On valentines day I read them out to the kids. Sweet moments shared by all.
What are some of your favorite crafts? Do you have any valentines day traditions?
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
