We’re working hard to complete our Summer Bucket List. I can’t believe that the school holidays are almost over!
We have 2 weekends left before Lilly starts school and I’m crying! I really can’t believe that she is about to start first grade! We are most certainly working our way through an awesome summer.
Go to the beach
- Wet ‘n’ Wild (at least 10 times)
- Fruit picking
Travel on a plane Driving trip up the coast
- Have dinner by the fire pit
See Aladdin in Sydney Visit the Zoo Visit the Science Centre in Wollongong and have ice cream
- Open air cinema
Jenolan Caves adventure
Our list is slowly shrinking and I’m pretty impressed with what we have done. Fruit picking is up next and we are slowing working towards that Wet n Wild target visit of 10 times.
Last weekend was our driving trip up the coast for a long weekend by the sea. Just what we needed! We listed to Spotify and the Moana soundtrack all the way…all the way people! Lots of car dancing and signing was had. I think another road trip driving songs post is on the agenda. Recap post coming soon.
The kids and I have managed to cross a few items off our list at a time. We recently headed down to Wollongong and went to the Science Center, had ice cream (you can’t not go to Wollongong and have ice cream by the sea!) and visit the beach. Lilly spent the whole time at the beach pretending to be Moana…it’s the new Frozen I’m telling you.
Science Centre and Planetarium:
The science centre and planetarium was pretty awesome. The kids loved it. The best part was the wind tunnel for sure, and each activity had a “what’s happening” and “how to make it work” explanation. This was great for Lilly as I could explain what was going on. Loki just loved playing with everything. We spent about 2 hours and the only reason we left was to get lunch. The centre is 2 levels and the kids get free reign to explore. We took in a planetarium show as well. Lilly loved it, however I think Loki was a bit too young. He was restless towards to the end. The good thing is that the planetarium is on site so you don’t have to go far to see the night sky. The planetarium shows are great for kids 5 and up.
General entry is $10 per child and $14 per adult. If you see a show the combined ticket price is $13 per child and $17 per adult. There is also free parking on site #winning
After lunch was the beach and then ice cream on Flagstaff hill. Wollongong has a lot of beaches. Look for the ones away from the centre of town, such as North Wollongong as these always have the most people. Flagstaff Hill has a Mr Whippy ice cream van that is a perfect way to end the day
This was a great day trip and the kids slept all the way home!
Have you made a summer bucket list? What did you want to do on yours?
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
