Y’all where does the time go? In February of this year Lilly started school! and a small part of me just can’t take it.
I’m still not sure where time goes, I still think I have mummy brain and lose track of days. Maybe it’s because I work in a hospital and see live go by so quickly but I’m holding on to those days when she was little and enjoying the school days and the friends Lilly is making and the new experiences. Totally made the school run in time and everyone was dressed today (hair washed and done and correct shoes!) #boom #mumwin
So today I wanted to share with you that first day…that first day of school and a couple of photos of Lilly from back in the day.
The first day was crazy…we were late lol. The school did staggered start times so all the kindy kids didn’t come in at the same time and got overwhelmed so we got there just after her start time. When we walked in Lilly found her name and seat and was off. It took me back to her first day of pre-school and I was trying not to cry in the class room! She rocked that first day of school. She met new friends and enjoyed the new leaning environment.
I then dropped Loki off at pre-school and lost it. Cried silent ugly tears behind my hands. The teachers felt for me and they all know what it’s like, but I think it was then that it really hit me that she was getting older, next step was driving and then traveling and oh my I think my life crumbled. It also gave me strength, strength that we were entering a new season, growing together as mother and daughter and leaning to enjoy the strength that Lilly is gaining from school.
After regaining myself lol I went and cleaned, like cleaned the house it was so spotless and I lost track of time. I went to get Lilly from her first day of school and was so happy, it was like my right arm was back. I took her flowers and was surprised I was the only parent there who thought of the idea. She loved them and said they made her feel special. We then went and got coffee, Lilly had a cupcake (go figure) and spent some one on one time talking about her first day.
It was a great day and we’ve had some great school days since then. My hope for her moving forward is that she loves school and wants to study more.
Mums, I hope your little ones first days of schools are great and filled with happiness. Enjoy the moment and enjoy the stories they bring home, the home work, sight words and home readers. We’re building the next generation and with love and with support we can get through those school days together 🙂
