This past week we went on a holiday. A mini holiday of sorts. While it’s not quite summer just yet the weather did feel like it. If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen my overload of pictures lol. It was a great time and we did have lots of fun. We took the kids and my mother and step-dad Paul. We went to Queensland and explored MovieWorld, SeaWorld and Surfers Paradise. It was only a short trip (Wednesday to Sunday) however for the kids first plane ride and more then 2 days away it was a success.
I love taking photos and make new memories and what better place to record them then on the blog. I will break the holiday down into a couple of posts, otherwise this will be a really really long post.
We stayed at Treasure Island Big 4 Holiday Park. It’s an NRMA run family villa/camping/unit park that is great for the kids. We stayed in a lagoon villa which looked out on to a pool. It was wonderful as most of the time it was just us and the kids in there. To get to our pool you had to walk into the villas or access from the spas – heading back to the holiday units, and not many people new it was there. It was the perfect location.
Loki runs in all directions at once and Lilly pulls the best faces!
The park had 2 other pools, a splash park, jumping pillow, tennis court, mini golf and you could also hire ride on trikes/bikes. 3 nights a week they run movies near the splash park and we got to watch “the box trolls” while eating dinner on our first night. As the park does carter for camping and caravans there were a lot of kids around, which meant our kids could always find a friend to say hello too. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We brought food and as the villa was self contained we cooked breakfast and most dinners. Lunches were normally eaten on the run or at a theme park.
The one thing I really liked about this Big 4 Holiday park was that it was gated. We visited one late last year that was great, but more open and had no fences. It backed on to the beach and a river. Very wonderful spot however as Loki is a runner…if you’re not watching he’s gone and Lilly can do the same at times. So this place was perfect. Also as the pool was at our door the kids were really happy to just hand with us at the pool or walk around the park to the jumping pillow.
All in all the park was a great place to stay and I do believe we are planning another trip next year! Be sure to come back soon for more holiday fun.
