If you’re coming across for the Hit Me With Your Best Shot link party welcome! I’m so glad your here. Grab a coffee and stay a while 🙂
As you know we brought our house in July of 2014. It’s our first home and while it is not old, it needed a bit of love. We started with a coat of paint and some photo’s on the wall. Then slowly we are taking on a project each month. Stay tuned for the deck building! However I may have got a little but too excited and completed a room without really thinking about it (or even doing it correctly)
Current state of the Laundry room
And you know what it’s bugged me for about 2 months. I painted the strips with leftover paint from Lilly’s room and only brought new white paint. The fixtures were given a really good clean. I don’t think they had been wiped down in 23 years. It was that bad! And I loved it. But I spend more time in that room then I would like. Ca I get an amend for the never ending loads of washing! And then started to notice the little things. The paint on the trim, the un-even stipes (**head in hands**) and the shelf I wanted that never got around to buying.
So this is my next big project and today I wanted to share with you my inspiration and idea for the laundry room.
I originally wanted this
but as the current wall fixture is staying and I don’t want to block the window I had to re-think the lay-out. Thank goodness for Ikea. Oh how I could spend my days in the stores just looking and dreaming. Am I right?
We will most likely end up with a space like this:
Which I’m super excited about and it’s cheaper than when we looked in store. On the other wall (currently stripy) I was thinking wallpaper however I can’t find anything I like so a bold colour, prints and a sign maybe the way to go. I’m thinking something easy, classic and stubble. Does that exist?
I am leaning towards something like this:
Add in some nice powder holders and a nice print or two and we’re done.
What are your thoughts? Have you ever done a room make over and wanted to change it quicker then expected?
