For some reason, I feel like I just expected them to link to my site by themselves. I didn’t know that you needed a plug in to do this for you. I also didn’t know that you are able to link the “Pin it” buttons to your posts/photos. Crazy I know. In some way I feel like a bit of a bad blogger, and I have been putting up posts and not thinking about it.
However I deep drive into “Building a FrameWork” from Abby @ Just a Girl and her Blog and realised I was not doing something. I could see that she was verified on Pinterest and was able to have her posts link straight to her Pinterest page. Same with Natalie from At Home With Natalie who’s post come up on FaceBook and Pinterest.
What was I missing? Try as I might I was not able to find a “how to” guide in Abby’s book about how to add this and I couldn’t even find the information on Restored 316 (builders of my site – amazing! You need to check them out) so I did what most people do and read posts after posts on the Internet and read what plug ins are good and what ones are not so good. There are so many and some involved code that you may just pull your hair out….I may have went too.
So never fear my friends! I have a simple and easy way to link your posts from your (WordPress) blog to social media automatically. Once you have read 300 blog posts and watched a couple of youtube videos it’s easy as pie!
To begin go and download NextScripts SNAPS via the plug in section in WordPress.
You can find the link here
Download > activate plug in > Open “Settings” page. Either click “Settings” link on the plugin or go to the Settings->Next Scripts Social Networks Auto-Poster from the left menu.
This is the auto set up process and easier than the manual one. However you can choose the installation that works best for you.
Once this is done, you will need to set up where you would like your posts to be on FaceBook or Twitter. Other platforms apply just not Instagram.
Check out this link. It takes you to the NextScripts support page and is great for step by step and pictures.
