Oh my goodness! It’s the end of January, where did this month go?? As it’s the end of January a lot of kids will be going back to school, or starting school. Hang in there mum’s and dad’s it’s an amazing, exciting and scary time all roll into one day.
With the first day or first day back to school in mind I wanted to share with you 2 photos I took of Lilly for her first day of year 1. These photos were really easy to capture and will be a great reminder for the first day of school. I also have a Pinterest board with some great first day of school photos. You can view the board here.
There are some super cute photos out there and I found this idea on Pinterest. This one is great because all you need prop wise is a book (an apple maybe…Lilly couldn’t keep the apple on the book lol) We chose Alice in Wonderland as she likes the story and used to watch the movie all the time. Plus it has a pretty cover as well. My husband said I should have covered her mosie bites, but it’s the season we’re in currently and it’s summer in Australia…they just don’t quit!
I love chalkboard photos! Last year I did a chalkboard photo for Lilly’s first day. We were late to school (on the first day) because I was taking so many photos! #mumfail
You can pick up chalkboards just about everywhere these days and there really easy to store. I like to use them as often as I can.
The third photo is a take on the printed signs that you can get/make. I just had her pose and then edited the photo to include the writing. Lilly also said if she doesn’t make it as a nurse she wants to be vet lol. Goals baby goals. I like PicMonkey to edit photos as it’s easy to use. Couldn’t resit adding in the ladybug.
The great thing about this photo idea is you can put anything you like around the child.
- School name
- I want to be ……
- My teacher is
- My favorite color/thing/toy
The list goes on and on. Can’t take photo’s without including both kids
So to any mum’s and dad’s out there with kids going back or starting school, good luck! I’ll be crying right there with you 🙂
