Today I have a really easy, quick and simple DIY. If you’re like me you will have a thousand measuring cups and they are spread over all draws in your kitchen. I think I have measuring cups in abut 4 draws! It’s crazy and I always seem to lose one cup or only ever find one cup from a set.
So I decided to hang them. Get them out of the draws and somewhere I can see them. I use them almost every day and I’m also looking for/reading the mils when cooking, so what better way to keep track of them and there mils then by hanging them in a kitchen cupboard. Crazy idea right? My husband thought so and then had concerns that the door to the cupboard wouldn’t close. He’s very supportive…..
To begin I chose the cupboard door and gave it a wipe down. Then I found the cups that I wanted to hang and laid them out on the bench. I dug out the freshly brought 3M hooks and got to work.
I lined the hook up so it was below the shelf and tested the cup on the hook. Making sure the hook didn’t get in the way of the shelf. Once I was sure I removed the backing and stuck the hook on. I really like the 3M hooks because they are easy to place on walls/doors and easy to remove (just remember to go slow) and can instantly make an impact or change the way something looks. Once the hook had bonded to the door I put the cup on. I then repeated the same steps for the other cups.
Once the cups were on I stuck chalkboard stickers to the door. There were found at Big W and come off to be re-used. I’m in love with these stickers.
And that’s it. Like I said really easy and simple and less clutter in my draws. You can repeat the idea for the little tea/tablespoon ones and also any other measuring cups you have. If you try something similar or even this idea, tag me on Instagram. I’d love to see!
