We have a small dinner table that is rectangle in shape, unlike the normal square or round. When we brought the house we actually asked to keep the table lol. Yes we we’re those people. But it has bench seats and I’m a sucker for bench seats and tables. I think it’s because I read and watch so many shows that have them I just want one.
The table is great for us, but may need to be updated as the seats are old and the fabric will need to be replaced sooner then later…maybe a DIY in the works. So with our table we tend to sit on one side (boxing the kids in so they eat all their dinner lol) and put food towards the outer edge. Christmas is no different. Last year we set a big table out in the back room, this year we are going smaller, simply and lots of cupcakes and cookies!
Our table is slim line and long, so it works well to keep everyone on one side, however being new to decorating a table it’s easier to have everything in a line. The table runner helps get everything in line. We did go a bit crazy with the treats on the table. We had cupcakes, butter cookies, choc and orange short bread and chocolate chip cookies, plus choc wafers
may have eaten them all. And of course you need some helpers to eat dress the table!
The bunting is an old free printable patten that I love. Comes out every year and stays up long into January lol.
