Today is Mothers day! A special day for mums to enjoy breakfast in bed, a special gift, lots of cuddles and kisses and maybe, just maybe someone else to do the dishes.
This year is the first year that I wont see my mum on Mothers day. She’s up the coast and all-though we speak on the phone it’s not really the same, so I thought I would write her a letter. Something that hopefully my kids will do for me one day 🙂
Thank you. A million times thank you! Your support is never ending and you are always trying to see the good and light at the end of the tunnel. We don’t always get a long or see eye to eye, however I know it’s because you have our best interests at heart. Your then when I need you and have allowed me to vent over the phone about silly stuff without (most of the time) pointing out the pointlessness of the vent and how I’m actually making a big deal about nothing..
You’ve traveled with me and opened my eyes to many horizons. You should with me on my wedding day and we’re there at both kids births. Holding my hand being the strength I needed! You thought me to be strong, confident and helped bring me back down to earth. You helped me get a foot in the property market and you’re a wonderful yai yai to Lilly and Loki.
I love how you helped me through the newborn haze, both times and that the kids have strong women to look up to. Both you and my mother in law are irreplaceable. We fight yes, you’ve hung up on me on phone calls, but at the end of the day you’re always there for me. You’re my Lorelai to my Rory.
I love you. With all my heart. Always have, always will.
Happy Mothers day to all the mums out there. I hope you have a wonderful day.
